Football fans are routing the streets of Moscow

Description

July 9th, 2002. If, somehow, youd forgotten how seriously most of the world takes its World Cup soccer (or football) matches, let this be a reminder of how not to make a little extra money. On July 9th there was to be a big World Cup match between Russia and Japan. Before the match even began - due to the amount of beer being sold - there were few sober fans left still, police claimed that everything remained under control. These are soccer fans, after all. Within a few minutes, the center of Moscow had turned into a battlefield. Hundreds of people started to destroy anything at hand, moving along several nearby streets lined with shops and stores. Dozens of shop windows were broken; several kiosks were smashed and looted.
